Full Moons are a time of culmination ~ when things come to a head or come to fruition. Full Moons occur when the Moon is directly opposite the Sun. This full Moon is in the sign of Libra ruled by the planet Venus ~ femininity, love, romance, attraction, affection, and companionship. It falls opposite the Sun in Aries ruled by Mars ~ masculinity, passion, aggression, independence, and the self.
Relationships are all about compromise. The individual desires (Aries) versus that of the partner(ship) (Libra). When we get close to someone special and begin a relationship, we have to be careful not to lose ourselves in the union. This is especially true for women represented by Venus. A perfect metaphor is when women take their husbands sir name after marriage and automatically assume their spouses ‘identity.’ Mars, embracing the principal of masculinity and independence, is typical of men who often have trouble with commitment. Thus, a full Moon in Libra reinforces this traditional archetype. This is further magnified by the yin or feminine attitude of the Moon and the yang or masculine law of the Sun.
Also emphasized is the idea that all partnerships are a direct reflection of the self. We attract what we are. If you are struggling in close relationships and feel that you’re not attracting a suitable partner (Libra), you might first want to look at yourself and your individual needs (Aries). This is in no way meant to imply that you should take on someone-else’s issues or dysfunction. However, you may want to ask yourself:
~ Do I like to create or attract drama?
~ Do I need to play the victim in order to get attention?
~ Am I a natural nurturer/caregiver that desires to ‘save’ or ‘fix’ others out of innate compassion? This can be true of creative, artistic, spiritual types.
The trick is to define what message you are sending out because it’s exactly what you’ll attract. Once you honestly recognize your own behavior (Aries) you can effectively cultivate better relationships (Libra).
Because this full Moon is ruled by Venus which is in retrograde motion (moving backwards) now, the emphasis is on redoing or reviewing. If you are looking to reconnect with an old lover, rebuild a relationship, or rekindle a romance, now would be the time to reach out. Or you may want to turn inward and reflect. This is a perfect opportunity for retrospection and releasing the past. You can rebuild your self-esteem, restore your confidence, and replenish your soul. These last three concepts embody both Mars &Venus ~ Self Love. Then you’ll be poised to attract your ideal partner!
New Moons and Full Moons are excellent days to make a ‘Wish List’. Right down very specifically all the qualities you would like to manifest in a relationship and all the qualities you desire in a perfect mate. Take a look and see where they match up. Then you’ll have your blue print for the ultimate relationship!
