New Moon in Sagittarius

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. This year the New Moon in Sagittarius (Jupiter) falls on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday), which is Jupiter’s day. This is a hopeful offering as Sagittarius invites optimism, idealism, faith and generosity. In Native American traditions the Turkey is a symbol of gratitude, abundance, the give away. Praise, gratitude, and enthusiasm invoke abundance. Rumi says: Poverty of the soul is caused by your inability to praise! Let us all give thanks to our creator/great spirit/ god/goddess for the abundance and blessings in our lives. Embrace the attitude of gratitude.

With the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars all in Sagittarius let us hope the Archers sacred arrow of hope, generosity and good intention pierces the darkness of the past eight years. This New Moon conjuncts the ascendant (national identity) in the chart of the USA. Yet despite all the negative news, the global financial meltdown and massive job cuts there is still a collective vibe of hope, new vision, and a reason to believe and say never again to the scorch earth policies of the past administration. The horoscope I use for the USA comes from the excellent astrologer and researcher Mark Learner of Earth Aquarius News. The date for this chart is July 4, 1776, 4:47 PM, Philadelphia, Pa.. I’ve been using this chart for thirty years and it works well for me.

The ascendant for this chart is seven degrees of Sagittarius and this is a critical link to the Nuclear axis chart of 1942. For example, Hiroshima, Three Mile Island and Chernobyl all had triggering planets activating the nuclear axis, which is between 9-11 degrees of mutable signs. With the New Moon on the ascendant and in opposition to Uranus in Gemini we can expect continuing upheavals, major shocks and hopefully reform within the automotive industry. We can look for new breakthroughs and discoveries in science and technology, and political earthquakes loom on the horizon. The Sabian Symbol for the degree of the New Moon reads: A Game of Cricket, Keynote: The development of skill in group-situations testing the collective good. It is a symbol of solidarity.

On November 26 Pluto returns into Capricorn until 2023. With Pluto at 0 degree Capricorn this activates the Aries point ( 0 degrees of cardinal sings) until February and again in August and September of 2009. Planets at Zero degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) are like heat seeking missiles guiding or influencing the expression of that sign in connection with the external world. It is often referred to as a point of fame or recognition. In the August newsletter I wrote with the return of Pluto in Capricorn we might witness the death of corporate capitalism, as we know it. Capricorn rules government, corporations and organizations. Pluto rules all things that are toxic. The intent of Pluto is to tear things down, then build them back up stronger and healthier than before. Something has to die before something new can be born.

Happy Birthday to the most intense, passionate, and discerning sign of the Zodiac!
While you are not one to take change lightly, you still have another year ahead of it, particularly around all close relationships, the residence (a move is possible), and the career.   But fear not ~ it can be good!  It’s the Universes way of forcing you out of your comfort zone back onto your life path.  
The most unpredictable, perhaps unstable, and maybe the most exciting part of your life, has been around romance and children.  There’s a need for independence here and fear of commitment is possible.  Your offspring may be asserting their individuality and trying to define their own unique identity.   Lovers and kids will crave more freedom and not want to conform to rules and restrictions.  The best way to handle both may be to hold on with an open hand or to try something  unconventional. 
Your creative energies and your social attitudes are becoming more eclectic, electric, and maybe eccentric too!  This could pose a conflict with more conservative friends or groups that are a mainstay in your life.   November can pose challenges.  The trick is to find compromise without sacrificing your individuality.  Remember the old Sly and the Family Stone song: “I want to thank you for letting me be myself”!!!?   However, your public image may suffer as you go through your metamorphosis.
You’ll feel a weight lifted come December.  The key to all of the above is communication which is in your favor until January.  Teaching, not preaching, works best, when trying to convey new thoughts, feelings, and attitudes. 
Your whole thought process is on the verge of a major 15 year transformation.  You’re coming off a 14 year cycle that made you reevaluate your values.  Now you have to apply this to those closest to you such as family and community members. 
You are going to be more intense than usual!!  Find an outlet for your passion, such as writing, or researching on the internet.   Neighbors may begin to look suspicious but that’s their issue, not yours!   All this pent up energy requires a release so use it constructively or accidents are possible.  There could also be a deep desire to learn more about things in your immediate environment.  Expect pleasant surroundings after the 12th!
Affairs around the home and family are more serene now although you might encounter some personal obstacles the 1st-6th.  A new spiritual or artistic element would greatly enhance this sector and fulfill part of your destiny ~ also, anything musical or metaphysical.  Water problems around real estate should be subsiding.  It would benefit you greatly to add a nautical or water feature to your home now such as a fountain, fish tank, or pool.  Aromatherapy can work wonders for your inner being.
