Astrologers note: I use a solar chart beginning with 0 degrees of the Sun Sign on the Ascendant. I then use equal house cusps, following with the next sign ~ 2nd House 0 Aquarius and so forth.

I do the Solstice and Equinox charts from a mundane perspective. I like to look at how the chart might affect our nation over the next 3 months until the Spring Equinox. You can also apply the info personally.

On December the 21, the Sun will enter Capricorn at 0 degrees which marks the beginning of the Winter Solstice. At that point and over the next few days, the Sun will snuggle (conjunct) up with Pluto which entered Capricorn in November of 2008. Pluto is all about total transformation ~ destruction and resurrection! Capricorn represents Corporate America, Conservatism, and Capital. Upon Pluto’s entry into Capricorn we saw the downturn in the economy and the devastation of major corporations.

Not only are the Sun and Pluto together in the Winter Solstice chart, they are on the Ascendant! (Starting point/ruler of chart). I think this is when the ‘shit hits the fan’! Some have predicted that President O’Bama will face a crisis equivalent to 9/11/2001 very early into his administration and this could be it. What better time for a terrorist attack but on a Christian holiday?

In any case, the next 3 months will be about total change brought about by something equal to a major catastrophe. And that cataclysm may very well involve our country’s resources.

Chiron (wounds that need healing), Neptune (escapism), Jupiter (abundance, party on…) and the Moon (feelings, nurturing, real estate, home and family), are all tight (conjunct) in our private financial sector ruled by Aquarius (the unusual, unconventional, and unexpected). In lay mans terms I would say the economy is lot worse than we would like to believe and collectively there’s a large measure of denial and false hope. Neptune also rules gas and oil so look for gases prices to go up where they have remained pretty steady.

These planets fall directly opposite retrograde Mars (aggression, ambition, war) in the area of investments and collective resources. I feel a lot more money will be spent on the conflict overseas, continuing to deplete our own economy. We may also stir up opposition from those investing in our financial system. Mars is ruler of the real estate area so look for fallout from the foreclosure market to impact our finances too.

Saturn, the traditional ruler of Aquarius, sits in the very public 10th house. We will look to collectively rebuild and restructure through hard work and determination. Possibly working more for less money. Inflation is a very real possibility. Unfortunately Saturn is in a hard aspect to Sun/Pluto, making us face the hard core reality of our present circumstances.

Uranus (the unexpected, enlightened, media), modern ruler of Aquarius, resides in the house of networking. I feel the press will play both positive and negative roles in exploiting current situations and exposing what is going on behind the scenes. It is in a hard aspect to Venus in the 12 house of secrets.

Venus rules money as well as love. It positively aspects the afore mentioned planets in Aquarius in our income sector. There may be some discreet help from a hidden benefactor. However the media may steer us toward a false ally who is actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Uranus is trine (happy, happy, joy, joy) the South Node (our undoing) in the house of partners but also open enemies. Do to our dire circumstances we are vulnerable to someone who may appear to be extremely helpful, a rescuer of sorts, but is actually out to undermine us.

The silver lining in all this doom and gloom (Not my natural nature as an astrologer!) will be Mercury conjunct (next to) the North Node (true fate and destiny) in Capricorn. Because Mercury is poised to go retrograde, we might look at how we survived recessions and depressions in the past as a way to manage future challenges. The nodes work on approximately 19 year cycles. What we implement now can greatly impact the next 2 decades!

Factor in the USA, Gemini Rising Chart

USA Pluto falls in late Capricorn next to our financial house (again!) reinforcing total transformation of the economy brought on by extreme circumstances. USA Moon falls right in with the stellium (group of planets) in Aquarius doubling the Lunar impact. Family values and religion/Spirituality will be hot topics. Highlighting that is USA Chiron in the sector of family and homes. It also continues the theme of an open wound around the real estate market.

USA Uranus and Mars in the health and work sector, keeps unemployment and healthcare in the news but more as a side show rather than a main event.

The stellium of USA Sun, Venus, and Jupiter along with USA Mercury conjunct W.S. South Node in Cancer, ruling our partnership sector, emphasizes my above scenario about attracting a false friend. I refer to the old cliché if something (someone) appears too good to be true, it probably is!

Interestingly USA Neptune falls in the zone of foreign affairs, legalities, Spirituality, higher education, and publishing, directly opposite W.S. Uranus. Expect the unexpected from the media, media companies, and transportation corporations as they relate to the above. It also strengthens the denial issues or putting a ‘spin’ on current affairs.

USA Saturn sits up in our career and public eye sector repeating the theme of prudence and perseverance. We are headed for our Saturn return ~ grow up time, coming of age (again)! It speaks to me that if we put forth the effort and meet our challenges head on, we will be rewarded on down the road  The key is to deal effectively with our present circumstances while keeping an eye toward the future!

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. The Moon in Scorpio is related with all things deep, dark and mysterious. Scorpio is the sign of birth, death and renewal. This is one of the best New Moon’s to work on deep emotional healing by learning to release and let go of old attachments that no longer serve our needs. Repeat this affirmation: I will no longer serve that which does not serve me. This is not self-aggrandizement, not narcissism, it is service to the soul.

The Moon in Scorpio is sort of like going on a blind date only to discover that your partner is Ereskigal, the ancient Sumerian goddess of darkness and the underworld. routines. It is absolutely vital to approach things with an open hand and especially with an open mind! Uranus is often called the Awakener. Uranus’s sojourn through Pisces has helped many awaken out of their spiritual amnesia.

Saturn in Libra exactly conjuncts the MC in the Sibily chart for the United States. The pressures on the president are enormous. In the eyes of many the president is perceived as being too politically passive (Libra?) and lacks the courage to implement real
change. In last months newsletter I mentioned the last time Saturn made its ingress into Libra was on September 22,1980 the very day Iraq invaded Iran. There was the assassination attempt on president Reagan back in March of 1981. Abraham Lincoln was killed and the United States was enmeshed in a Civil war back in 1862. Saturn will make its return to its natal position in the Sibily chart come next November just in time for the general elections of 2010? Could this be a harbinger of things to come such as a strong conservative (Saturn) turn out? Or, will the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Pisces prevail? Historically Jupiter/Uranus cycles are times of new scientific breakthroughs and discoveries. These are also times historically that coincide with Liberal and progressive empowerment. We shall see?

After 2 long years in Virgo, Saturn has now entered Libra falling into a hard aspect with Pluto called a square. Squares pose challenges and both of these are difficult planets! Therefore, each sign will have 2 areas conflicting with each other which I will address.

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting new seeds and setting of intentions.

With the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus in Libra this is one of the most favorable times to look at our relationships with others through objective eyes. The question we need to ask is, do we attract relationships in our lives that are vital and sustain us? or do we attract others into our lives that wound and devitalize us? Like the country singer Kenny Rodgers says, � You have to know when to hold them and when to fold them�.

This is a powerful time to examine our relationship with ourselves. If we cannot love ourselves, value ourselves, certainly we�re not going to truly relate to another, understand their needs and love them. Libra needs to understand that self-love, self worth is something that�s internally generated and we don�t need to be dependent onfinding the significant other for personal fulfillment and happiness. Chinese proverb says � He who looks to others for fulfillment, will never be fulfilled�.
With Libra there is a tendency of over identification with looking for someone or something outside of us to fulfill their most essential core needs.

The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal symbology reads: A woman naked standing on a crescent moon, the stars glittering behind her in a sky of blue. October kicks off with a Full (Harvest) Moon in Aries (Oct 3rd) bringing things to light and ushering in new beginnings!
Anticipate some big energy shifts mid-month; Mercury is now direct but we�re officially out of the shadow period on the 14th, the same day Venus (love & money) moves into Libra which it rules.� On the 12th Jupiter (luck, excess, & abundance) will switch to direct motion, hopefully improving our finances!� Mars (passion, anger, & ambition) enters Leo on the 16th ~ a better place to express itself, rather than moody Cancer.�
When the Sun moves into Scorpio on the 23rd, retrograde Uranus (the unconventional, the unexpected, & electric) will begin a friendly aspect to the North Node, ruler of our true fate.� Our immediate destiny may be connected to a pleasant surprise the last part of October!?

Astrologers note:� I use a solar chart beginning with 0 degrees of the Sun Sign on the Ascendant.� I then use equal house cusps, following with the next sign ~ 2nd House, 0 Scorpio, and so forth.

I do the Solstice and Equinox charts from a mundane, public perspective.� But you can also apply it personally.� I like to look at how the chart might affect our nation over the next 3 months until the Winter Solstice.

As of September 22, the Sun will enter Libra at 0 degrees which marks the beginning of the Autumnal Equinox.� Libra is the sign of partnership.� Because it�s in the house of Self we must partner internally.� I see no foreign aid in this chart.� It�s completely up to ourselves to use our creativity, ingenuity and optimism to work through what confronts us.

As the Sun enters Libra it comes into an exact, really hard aspect to Pluto ~ planet of annihilation, destruction, and re-building from ashes.� Because Pluto falls right on the 4th house cusp of home, family, and real estate we can expect to see some marked changes in these areas!� It also marks a very personal transformation that comes from complete letting go and restructuring through our own power and determination!� The North Node (destiny) falls in the same sign and house putting fate on our side!

Mars in the very public 10th house shows our pride and purpose to the whole world.� This is especially true when it comes to health care reform.� One of the strongest configurations is Mercury retrograde, exactly conjunct (next to) Saturn, directly opposite Uranus retrograde in the 6th house of health.� Uranus trines (great energy) Mars.� Expect the unexpected for sure!� But with 2 planets retrograde there will be remnants from the past or repeating old mistakes.� The Saturn/Mercury conjunction falls in the sign of Virgo which lends itself to alternative healthcare.� Combine that with the opposition to unconventional Uranus and you may finally see some inroading in that area.� Holistic medicine and the like may finally be given the credibility it deserves and may be seen as a viable option!Saturn/Mercury in the 12th house of hidden enemies could spell strong opposition from the conservatives behind the scenes.� Venus in the 12th lends we might also receive some help or financing from secret sources.

The Moon representing our country in the 2nd house of finances in the sign of Scorpio reinforces the secrecy of certain objectives.� It also speaks of making wise investments.� Because it trines Mars and Uranus ~ effectively creating a Grand Trine (which is grand!) ~ I think at least some part of a health care objective will be financed and brought to fruition.� However, with the South Node (self undoing) in the same sign & house as Mars, it might ultimately be to our detriment.

Where could it possibly go wrong?� The Moon squares the stellium (group of planets) of Jupiter and Neptune, and the asteroid Chiron (the wounded healer) ~ all retrograde in Aquarius ~ in the 5th house of children.� Whether they are neglected in the current plan or left to pick up the pieces several generations down the road is left to speculation??� Again, the retro energy brings up issues from the past.

In addition, the 5th house represents fun and entertainment, and with both the party planets of Jupiter and Neptune, we may delude ourselves into having a good time, spending too much money and cheating ourselves in the long run.� Neptune is also associated with denial.� Both those planets rule Spirituality so the ultimate lesson will be for our greatest and highest good but square the Moon in the 2nd, at what cost?

Factor in the USA Gemini Rising chart:

USA Neptune conjuncts A.E.� Mercury/Saturn totally driving home the likelihood of deceptive undermining by traditionalists, the denial factor, and the dissolution of all that gets accomplished to further a great spiritual learning experience.� Is America ready for that? Neptune rules gas and oil too so expect more concerns with that but on a domestic front.

USA Moon in Aquarius happens to conjunct the above stellium in Aquarius further emphasizing the above scenarios!

USA Pluto conjuncts the North Node in the same sign and house as A.E. Pluto reinforcing the need for complete and total internal renovation!� If we don�t self initiate some major changes they will be thrust upon us maybe due to natural disasters or circumstances beyond our control.� In other words we better look to self empowerment and innovative ways to rebuild.� Entirely possible with Pluto/North Node sextile (friendly aspect) Uranus.� Uranus represents the novel and unconventional.� It would be in our best interest to come up with ground-breaking new ideas and reforms!

The USA stellium in Cancer of Venus, Jupiter, Sun, & Mercury (retrograde no less!) falls in A.E. 10th with Mars, further strengthening our resolve and ambition to walk our talk.� However, USA Mercury does conjunct A.E. South Node suggesting our words may come back to haunt us!� Perhaps with A.E. Mercury conjunct Saturn, we may just want to bite our tongue and let our actions speak for us.

USA Mars in the same sign as USA Uranus in Gemini in A.E. 9th house is the only indication I see of foreign influence.� It also underlines the Mars/Uranus connection in the Equinox chart.� Unexpected legal, spiritual, foreign, or educational obstacles could crop up???� But all things considered I think it�s a weak influence, basically representing the ongoing war overseas.� I believe you�ll see it fade more into the background and not dominate the news as much as healthcare and the economy.

The focus is closer to home now.� Self reliance, accountability, and the motivation to continue to prosper as an independent nation is a very attainable goal ~ So long as we don�t get lost in illusion and false prophesies.� God helps those that help themselves!!

With the ruler of our chart in the 12th and 4 out of 10 planets retrograde, we can definitely learn from our past while trying not to repeat past mistakes.� It would behoove us to keep our objectives on the �down low� as we do run the risk of falling flat on our face.� However, if the intention, the desire to transform, and the willingness to see things clearly is well placed,� then we will give these next 3 months our best shot at success!

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting new seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Virgo will focus on issues related with health, healing, service and preparation. This New Moon makes a close conjunction to Saturn in Virgo. It�s never too late to pay homage to the virgin goddesses.

The woman who is virgin, one-in-herself, does what she does, not because of any desire to please, to be liked or approved, to catch his interest or love, but because what she does is true. She is what she is, because that is what she is. Virginity is a process of being true to oneself, and if one has not been true than virginity is renewable. It�s never too late to become a virgin!

Woman can renew their virginity, intactness and integrity through the rites of Aphrodite, where she would annually renew her virginity by bathing, cleansing and purifying herself by the sea. The value placed upon virginity is a man�s idea, and that�s how men and the patriarchy controlled woman. As if virginity was a wonderful thing in the first place.

This is the best New Moon to take greater responsibility for our health physically, emotionally and spiritually. Its time to get serious about dietary changes, exercise routines and addressing medical issues we�ve been either denying, or putting off. Saturn is about commitment and Virgo represents the body. This is the right time to deal with our �inner critic� and attachment to perfectionism. There�s an indigenous saying that goes, is the good, true and beautiful in my nature as strong as the whispers of my demons and monsters?� We must answer yes to that on a daily basis.

This New Moon will energize the third of five oppositions on September 15th between Saturn and Uranus. These cycles often coincide to political, social and economic changes. The last opposition cycle was in the mid-1960s when the Civil rights movement, Vietnam War, Anti-War protests and the emergence of the Hippie revolution took center stage. Those with late degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) will feel it most intensely. Mercury, the ruler of Virgo squares Pluto on the 17th, suggesting that knowledge is power! Small issues can take on great importance. Your mind can probe beneath the surface. Secrets will be revealed.

The polarization between Saturn and Uranus becomes most visible during the town hall meetings on health care reform. We have those who are resistant (Saturn) to change, versus those who demand health care reform (Uranus). President Obama�s speech on September 9th will in many ways define his presidency. If he does not come out in favor for a strong public option he will lose the support of the progressives and unions who vow not to vote in the 2010 elections. This would be a huge victory for the right wing and the insurance industry. This seems to be a likely scenario in which case Obama will become one and done as president of the United States.

On September 19th, Mars conjuncts the lunar eclipse degree at 15 degrees of Cancer. Mars is only one degree plus off the Sun in Cancer, and square Saturn in Libra in the Sibily chart (USA). Heated debates, disruptions, fights and clashes with authority will continue at local town hall meetings over health care reform. The potential for domestic terrorism is a real threat. The president needs to be even more diligent over personal security issues; especially in light of gun advocates (Mars) carrying loaded firearms to town hall meetings. To be forewarned is forearmed!

The Sun, Moon Saturn in Virgo along with Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune in Aquarius the call for service resonates with us all. Be it service to our community, group, tribe, or extended social family. This is the medicine required to help restore our inter-connectedness with our universal and global family. Mercury Retrograde September 6 - September 29, 2009

Mercury appears retrograde 3 times a year for approximately 3 weeks at a time. Here’s the kicker ~ I attach a 3 week shadow on each side making it a 9 week period altogether.
Not all of Mercury retrograde is negative, though. Yes, cell phones and computers can get glitchy; the light can come on in your car and you take it to the mechanic and nothing is wrong with it. ( I always tell people, unless it’s the break light or something important, wait until after the retrograde to get it checked because it just might fix itself!)� Anything with communication and transportation can go haywire and if you’re a Gemini or a Virgo, ruled by Mercury, it can be even more frustrating.�

You must really be careful of what you say and how you say it.� Words can be misconstrued.� It’s also a bad time to start anything new or sign important contracts or documents.� The exception can be someone who is born with Mercury retrograde�~ it does not affect them as much.� So what can possibly be positive?� Lots!� Mercury retrograde is an excellent time to contact or hear from people from your past!� Rather than solicit new clients, return to your sphere of influence.� Reach out to someone you need to REconcile with.� It’s an awesome time to REconnect.� Go back and FINISH old projects so when the retrograde period is over you can begin new endeavors with a clean slate.� It’s not the best time to get married but how about REmarried?� Rather than plan a trip to some place new, why not REvisit a favorite destination? Different people have different opinions on traveling while Mercury is retrograde.� If it can be avoided, it probably should.� Some plans may have to be REscheduled.� It’s almost impossible to hook up with new people but an excellent time to get together with old friends or plan a REunion!� Just about anything you can put “RE” in front of works.� Refurbish, redo, reconnect etc.� The one exception can be remodeling.� If it’s your first time doing it and contracts are involved, try and wait until after.� Things will have to be REdone!�

Don’t go to a new agency, partner, or job if you can help it.� Try to connect new endeavors with the past if that makes sense.� Also, if you’ve had a dilemma you may now suddenly have an epiphany.� If you’ve been waiting for something or someone to arrive it could happen now!�
We all have the ability to focus on the positive and make the most of trying situations.� Use your energy wisely and constructively.� Rather than branching out in new directions, go down a tried and true path.� Be patient and really cautious with the words you choose and use.� Drive extra carefully. Take time to REview.� Think before you take action as your mind (Mercury) could be playing tricks on you!� Stay as focused as possible and don’t let it run your life.� Did Mercury retrograde bother you BEFORE you knew about it?� We must deal with the past before we head into the future!��

Mercury goes Retrograde on the 6th but truthfully it�s already in effect until October 14th.� I will resurrect my old blog next week on MRx to help remind everyone of the positive uses of that energy too!
Pluto, the intense little planet ruling nuclear energy, goes direct on September 11th.� Another good reason to pay attention on that day!
Saturn and Uranus will face off again on the 15th.� Look for matters pertaining to old vs new, conservatism vs socialism, conventional vs unconventional etc.� This same opposition took place in the mid 1960�s in exactly the same signs (only the planets were reversed)!

The month of September should be interesting to say the least!!� And on a personal note�.

This Eclipse is the final one in the series affecting the 4 signs Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio.� These signs are wrapping up a 2 year cycle that should feel complete around November.��

Full Moons are a time of culmination, when things come to a head or come to fruition.� Full Moons occur when the Moon is directly opposite the Sun.�� This full Moon in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn ~ hardships, delays, frugality ~ in the same sign as Retrograde Pluto ~ death, resurrection, transformation ~ is super charged as an Eclipse!� Kick that energy up a couple notches!!�

New Moon in Cancer ~ Sign of the Bear?

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting new seeds and of setting intentions. We are all familiar with the sign Cancer associated with the crab. However, my premise is that many of the attributes and meaning of the signs come from smaller star groups that surround the major constellations of the zodiac. Therefore, the meaning for the sign Cancer actually derives from the bear. Directly below the constellation of the crab is the constellation Ursa Major, the Great Bear.

The qualities and principles associated with Cancer such as nurturing, mothering and care taking comes from characteristics of the bear rather than the crab? Consider how the bear is about protection, nesting, maternal and loves food. Once again, the point I want to drive home is to understand that the meaning of the signs in the zodiac are influenced by other star groups and constellations near the region of the major constellations of the zodiac.

This New Moon is the second �Crisis Moon� of 2009 and the most powerful occurring so close to the Summer Solstice. The Crisis Moon is when the Moon is near its perigee (closest to earth) emotional and domestic issues become more intensified especially with the Moon in it�s own sign, Cancer. It�s not uncommon for those with the sign Cancer, the Moon, or 4th house strongly activated in their charts to be susceptible to Lunar Burnout! This is a form of a breakdown that happens when you�re called on to nurture others too much, for too long and you�re not doing enough to nurture and care for yourself. People who suppress or refuse to honor their own essential core needs, and subordinate their needs for the needs of others, are those who wind up emotionally burned out (Moon).� Cancer�s never know when to cut the cord and stop trying to nurture the world.

This is one of the most challenging and intense New Moons of the year as it make a direct opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. Expect major changes and transformations in the area�s of the home, family, work, business and in the manufacturing and housing industry.

New beginnings and ending are the watchwords as old chapters in our lives come to a close, as that which supported us in the past is no longer viable. One of the most important lessons for Cancer�s is learning to let go of old attachments from the past. Pluto is a great attachment breaker and acts as a servant of wholeness.
The triple conjunction between Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune continue, and are still in opposition to the asteroid Hygeia (goddess of medicine) in Sibily (USA) chart. Major health care reform is one of the most vital and contentious issues of the day. Jupiter turned retrograde on the 15th and will remain there until October 13th. Jupiter retrograde cycles are not the most conducive times to initiate big plans or objectives. On a personal level Jupiter retrograde will reveal inner truths and wisdom. Honor the inner teacher!
Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune are still activating the Moon in Aquarius (masses) in the Sibily chart as we all prepare for a sea of change. The longing for a new American dream, a new vision is afoot! Venus and Mars reunite the week on the 15th after a two-month separation, both in the sign Taurus. Relationships of all kinds are energized and revitalized. This is an excellent time to cultivate our inner garden through sensuality, sexuality and pleasure. Saturn conjuncts Ceres in Virgo ~ take care of business and review quality control. This New Moon also activates Venus (money) in the Sibily chart and both are in direct opposition to transiting Pluto in Capricorn. The current financial crisis is still under going life support. This opposition between Venus and Pluto I feel serves as a powerful metaphor of the horrendous murder of Dr.George Tiller who was a late term abortion provider. Venus in Cancer the sign of the womb meets Pluto the annihilator in control, authoritative Capricorn. Scott Roeder the person accused of murdering Dr. Tiller has the Sun/Mercury conjunction in Pisces (martyr) both in opposition to his natal Pluto. On the day of the murder the triple conjunction in Aquarius between Jupiter. Chiron and Neptune (the wound of religious fanaticism) were squaring his natal Moon in Taurus. One of the comments Mr.Roeder made during his preliminary hearing to the judge why is everyone treating me like a murderer? Mr. Roeder: de-nial is not just a river in Egypt.

SUMMER SOLSTICE,�� June 20/21, 2009

Astrologers note:� I use a solar chart beginning with 0 degrees of the Sun Sign on the Ascendant.� I then use equal house cusps, following with the next sign ~ 2^nd House 0 Leo and so forth.
I like to look at mundane events every three months, on the solstices and equinoxes to gage what our nation can potentially experience during that time.� However, you can also apply the info on a personal level.�
When we study astrology we are looking at how the different planets aspect each other and this chart has some uncanny aspects that are really tight by degree.�
The Sun at 0 degrees Cancer, in direct opposition to retrograde Pluto, signifies a nation in ongoing crisis.� In the Vernal Equinox chart Pluto was in the 10^th house, still having us appear strong and powerful in the world�s eyes.� Now that Chiron is in the solar 10^th, and Pluto is on the 7^th house cusp, we are emerging as openly wounded making us vulnerable to attack from others who feel more powerful.� Pluto oppositions can also bring hidden things into the light.� We could be exposed from past deceptions and we may uncover a powerful plot against us.
The Sun-Pluto opposition forms an out of sign T-square to Uranus in Pisces in the 9^th.� Our foreign counter parts are in a period of instability too, especially in regards to religion/Spirituality, legal, educational, and oil/gas resources.� The chart�s ruler the Moon, conjunct Mercury in the 12^th,� reminds us that any hidden agendas we might have can wind up hurting us and them.� We need to compromise and grow Spiritually to keep up with others.� A more open minded approach suggests possible financial aid with gas/oil supplies as evidenced with the exact conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune, and Chiron in the 8^th in Aquarius in an out of sign trine to the Sun and sextile to Pluto.� Because all three points are retrograde and in a tight funky aspect to Uranus, we must handle all foreign relations delicately.�
The same funky aspect exists between the Sun/Pluto opposition and the North and South nodes.� Both nodes straddle our financial sectors making tweaking the economy our #1 priority.� We are way out of our comfort zone and will need to think of new and different ways to boost our failing financial system.
The most positive configuration falls in our house of allies.� We can derive much joy, pleasure, and perhaps economic aide from the Venus/Mars conjunction in the 11^th ruled by Taurus.� The exact conjunction exactly trines Saturn in Virgo in the 3^rd.� If we communicate honestly and effectively and work hard alongside our friends, we can make positive steps forward and benefit in the long term.
Factor in the USA (7 degrees) Gemini Rising Chart for a few notables!� All of a sudden S.S. 12^th house Moon conjunct Mercury leaps into prominence!� They fall on the USA ascendant and USA Uranus exactly!� Expect the unexpected as we�re in for some big surprises!� May be even about our new President??
Hidden things are bound to come to light any day now as the summer is riddled with eclipses.� These will mainly affect our financial sectors in both the Summer Solstice and USA charts.� I�ll be writing a separate blog next month that will give more details on the eclipses and what to expect!
USA Mars falls in S.S. 12^th reinforcing the notion of hidden enemies and secret aggression ~ whether it comes from internal or external forces.� It�s wide square to S.S. Uranus in the 9^th, and wide trine to the Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron/USA Moon (18 Aquarius) stellium in S.S. 8^th, strengthens the notion of unexpected foreign aggression but offers we might be able to buy our way out or perhaps strike a trade for services??
USA Mars also squares S.S. Saturn in the 3^rd, suggesting a communication breakdown or a delay in tactics.� S.S. Saturn is applying to a conjunction of USA Neptune, both in Virgo.� Again we must be very clear in what we say and how we say it.� (This will be even more important in the Autumnal Equinox chart.)� Any deceptions we generate can come back to bite us in the butt.� These 2 planets hooking up in the 3^rd, also explains the media�s saturation with the �Go Green� movement.� Saturn trine the Venus/Mars conjunction in the S.S. 11^th house, offers us the opportunity to form important groups and follow other countries� examples, making us more popular in the global community.
The USA Cancer stellium falls in both charts 1^st house conjunct S.S. Sun and opposing S.S. Pluto.� The Venus/Jupiter conjunction supports the notion of self love and optimism suggesting we can fight outward aggression through our strength of Unity.� We�re approaching our Solar Return (birthday) in a couple of weeks also, signifying new beginnings.� A positive approach will certainly benefit us in these trying times.� Let us not be our own worst enemy, but hold our heads high, work on our own growth, especially Spiritual, and embrace the change that will ultimately lead us to our higher purpose!

Full Moons are when things come to a head or come to fruition.� Either way it’s usually lively!� And what could be more lively than a Full Moon in Sagittarius!?
Sagittarius rules higher education, Religion, Law, Philosophy, and distant people, places, and things.� It is a fun, outgoing, and expansive sign.
Jupiter is Sagittarius’ ruling planet and currently resides in Aquarius ~ sign of the unusual, unconventional, higher minded, metaphysical, humanitarian, and inventive spirit!� Aquarius is all about friendships and groups.
Given the two influences and the intensity of a Full Moon, one would expect a very social weekend.� You could be home cramming for finals but don’t be surprised if you’re interrupted by boisterous friends!

Mercury Retrograde May 6th - May 30, 2009

Mercury appears retrograde 3 times a year for approximately 3 weeks at a time. Here’s the kicker ~ I attach a 3 week shadow on each side making it a 9 week period altogether.

Not all of Mercury retrograde is negative, though. Yes, cell phones and computers can get glitchy; the light can come on in your car and you take it to the mechanic and nothing is wrong with it. ( I always tell people, unless it’s the break light or something important, wait until after the retrograde to get it checked because it just might fix itself!)� Anything with communication and transportation can go haywire and if you’re a Gemini or a Virgo, ruled by Mercury, it can be even more frustrating.�

So what can possibly be positive?� Lots!� Mercury retrograde is an excellent time to contact or hear from people from your past!� Rather than solicit new clients, return to your sphere of influence.� Reach out to someone you need to REconcile with.� It’s an awesome time to REconnect.� Go back and FINISH old projects so when the retrograde period is over you can begin new endeavors with a clean slate.� It’s not the best time to get married but how about REmarried?� Rather than plan a trip to some place new, why not REvisit a favorite destination?
